Guildbound: Tales of the Deep ("the game") is developed and published by
A Byte of Everything (com.mani.guildbound). This policy explains what
data the game handles and why.
Your progress — party, heroes, gear, gold, contracts and settings — is stored locally on your device and stays there unless you enable Online save. The game also keeps a short local diagnostics log, capped at the twenty most recent entries, used only to show you what went wrong if something fails. It never leaves your device unless you send it to us yourself.
Online save is off until you switch it on. When you do, the game creates an account for you and stores:
You can use Online save without ever signing in with Google. Signing in is what makes the save recoverable if you lose the device.
If you post a defending party to the Arena, other signed-in players can see your party name, the party you posted as your defence, and your rating. That is the whole of it — no email, no real name, and nothing about you outside the game. Your private save is readable only by you; the database rules enforce that, not just the app.
Posting a defence is a choice. The single-player game is complete without it.
Some things cannot be decided safely on a device, so the game calls Google Cloud Functions. These run only while you are signed in, and each does only the job named:
Finished match records are deleted automatically on a timer; they are not kept indefinitely.
There are none. Guildbound contains no in-app purchases and no payment processing of any kind. Gold, gear and Soul Stones are earned in-game and have no cash value.
You can delete everything yourself, from inside the game, without contacting anyone:
That removes your save, your Arena profile, your opponent records, every stored match you took part in, and the account itself. It is immediate and it is not recoverable.
Deleting also clears the game's progress on the device you did it from. Signing out instead (Settings → Online save → Sign out) leaves your cloud data intact but also clears local progress on that device — the game warns you before either action. Uninstalling removes local data only and leaves any cloud data untouched.
If the in-game option is unavailable to you for any reason, email thegeniusduke@gmail.com from the Google account you signed in with, and deletion is completed within 30 days.
Guildbound shows rewarded ads only, served by Google AdMob, and only when you choose to watch one in exchange for something — a refreshed contract board or a scout report. There are no banners, no interstitials, and no ad you cannot decline.
AdMob may collect device identifiers, such as the advertising ID, and usage data in order to serve and measure ads, under Google's Privacy Policy. Where required, you will be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can choose non-personalised ads instead. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings. The game is fully playable without ever watching an ad.
There is no analytics SDK in Guildbound. The game does not track how you play, does not build a profile of you, and does not report your behaviour anywhere.
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through Online save, contact us and we will delete it.
Cloud data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) and transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Access is restricted to your authenticated account and enforced by server-side security rules.
If the game's data practices change, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date revised.
